Pre-class Training Support Online & Home.
Starts when you have signed up! This is training you can do whilst waiting to take your pup out for the first time. It is preparation for Puppy Classes. Dogs are very “impressionable” when young, and you have a wonderful opportunity to build the foundations of a wonderful life for them. Training carried out at this time builds a solid foundation for all future training. The aim of Clever K9s pre-class consultation and online course is to provide that foundation.
Pre-Arrival Preparations.
- Home visit & in depth puppy consultation.
- New owner’s role: 8–12 weeks.
Pre-Coming Out Phase.
- House & crate training.
- Owner legal obligations.
- Reward selection.
- Using a long-line.
- Reflex to name.
- Eye contact.
- Conditioning recall cues.

The Training Location.
With their kind permission we are using, St James Church Hall, 1 Albion Street, Cross Roads, Keighley, BD22 9EB.
Directions:
The training room has its own access behind the Church which is exactly opposite Wild’s Cafe.
The access point is suitable for Wheelchair Users.
Day & Time:
- Each Monday Puppy Class starts at 6pm for approximately 1 hour.
- Please arrive 15mins earlier to allow for parking and moving to the training room.
- Other Dog Training Sessions will start at 7:30pm and end at 9pm.
NOTES:
- This is a no smoking facility.
- Please call Paul on 07532 723 790 if you have any difficulties with finding the venue.
- Parking is on streets – please be considerate of the local residents.
- Please keep the closest parking to the centre free for those who need ease of access. To aid their mobility.
- The venue is accessible to wheelchairs.
- Can I ask that you do not allow the dogs to “meet”. Also always keep your dog on a lead unless instructed to do otherwise – this is for control should any dog react badly to any others. If you want to do some doggie socialisation, please wait until the end. It’s best to do socialising this way to prevent the dogs being distracted in the training session.
- If for any reason you cannot make it to the session, please let me know so that we know not to wait for you at the start.
