Sit

Using a 5 to 10 minutes training session.
Prepare for the lesson. See Para 22. above.
Hold a treat slightly above the pup’s nose so they can see it.
When the pup sees the treat, move the treat upwards in a deliberate fashion above his head.
As the pup follows the treat with his nose, his bottom should instinctively drop down.
Say “Sit” as they move into the required position.
As his bottom touches the ground, clicker, praise, and treat.
Repeat for the duration of the lesson.
Change the routine slightly by saying “name-sit” instead and slightly earlier, whilst the pup is stood. Continue with the modified timing and the skill will become fixed.
